I’m a bit of a tomboy at heart, and since menswear has been on the up and up in the trend stakes, I’ve been pulling on all my old pinstripe and windowpane check pants and taking them out to play for the Fall.
To work the pinstripe trend with style this season snag yourself a pair of tapered cropped pants. You could go for the whole ‘dress-like-a-dude’ vibe and throw on a matching jacket – but for me that has the slight clang of a zoot-suit about it. For a more ‘now ‘ take on the look I’m throwing mine together with an oversized chunky knit – spookily this Stella McCartney one is already in pinstripe – double score! Pointy shoes are a must to ensure you keep your ladylike toe in the water, and as it’s mid fashion week – I’m all over the pointy flats like these cuties from Miu Miu.
With pinstripes it’s always a good idea to consider your proportions. If you’re a leggy babe then go for wide in your face stripes. But if like me, you err on the shorter side of the height spectrum, opt for a thinner stripe so as not to be overwhelmed by the pattern.
