There’s something infinitely decadent about the premise of wearing winter white. Perhaps it’s because the winter months bring with them tricky weather options to navigate, with various threat levels ranging from mud splatters to full on code red emergency situations like snow storms and Nor’Easters.
Clearly I’m not advocating yanking out your cream ensemble in those kind of situations, but if you’re lucky enough to be enjoying those blissful autumnal days with crisp blue skies and a chill in the air, it’s the perfect scenario to break out those winter white looks.
Firstly you can’t go wrong with a chunky knit this season. I’m all over this gorgeous one from The Row – those Olsen gals sure know how to bust out a great timeless classic.
I’m also loving the return of the loafer – these two tone Saint Laurent ones have a dapper vibe which fit beautifully with the easy/go anywhere Topshop trousers.
To pull of winter white without looking like an escapee from the local secure unit, opt for pieces with rich textures and fabrics, but keep the look simple and paired down for maximum cool points.
