This weeks sartorial dilemma is driven by the fact that I’ll be attending the Twilight Breaking Dawn red carpet event and star after party in LA next week – if that doesn’t throw a curve ball at a stylists normal relaxed take on dressing for an event then I don’t know what does.
There’s the red carpet dress rules to comply with, there’s the squeezing my sadly sub standard bodyshape into a gown issue, not to mention the palpatations that might give way to early on set seizure which may occur when faced with a conversation with a bevvy of the cast.
Luckily my stylist wardrobe is equipped with enough ammo to deal with this mammoth event. Having mused over a MaxMara floor length gown, studied my Stella McCartney cobalt blue one shoulder cocktail number and yes, even considered more shopping for the ideal outfit – I’ve come up with a genius plan of wearing an on trend tux.
Not just any old tux would do, so I’ve crawled to the back of my closet and come up with the ideal formula.
Take 1 trusty vintage Amanda Wakeley classic ladies tux jacket.
Mix with a cute Whistles sheer shirt embellished with bling on the collar & cuffs.
Add a pair of Tibi satin crop peg leg pants.
Pair with sparkly Jimmy Choo peep toe sling backs.
Complete the look with a Theory fold over clutch
Result = relaxed, on trend, red carpet ready – phew!
