Wrap skirt … what’s the scoop?
The weather is teasingly warming up over here in London, and as such my fashion-addled mind is turning towards skirts as my ‘go-to’ working wardrobe choice. I’m normally a huge shorts fan, but with the advent of the asymmetric wrap skirt, my allegiance is shifting, especially with the crop of cute florals and prints out there right now.
Unlike its more prim cousins the pencil or the A-line skirt, the wrap skirt has a sporty kick to it. Although it’s leaning towards the funster side of the sartorial chart, the wrap skirt is still totally office appropriate. You can smarten it up with the help of a luxe textured blouse, or work it on the low key side with an oversized sweater, whatever your weekly dress code calls for.
More good news if you are based Stateside – Matches Fashion have their sale on right now, so this weeks ‘What to Wear’ wrap skirt edit includes a pile of items from the US site, jam packed with sale steals to whet your whistle. After all, who doesn’t love a bargain…
Wrap skirt … how to wear it.
I like the idea of mixing up textures this summer, so I’ve paired this cute Thakoon floral print wrap skirt with this cobalt blue Jonathan Saunders silk tee. The J.Crew denim jacket is one of my summer staples for work, whilst the Nicholas Kirkwood mid heel pumps are genius office ready pieces.
I can’t seem to walk past Mango these days without piling in there for a shopping fix. Love these tortoise shell sunnies and choker necklace. Finally this sweet DVF cross-body bag adds a nice finishing touch to the outfit.
