Beach basics with a minimal vibe

It might be raining outside but summer has officially been declared a go, so my thoughts are automatically drawn to what the hell I’m going to be stashing in my bag for an upcoming few days in the South of France with gal pals. It’s one of those ‘carry-on’ only kinda trips, so I figured by keeping my beach basics down to a minimal colour palette, I might at last fathom the dark art of capsule wardrobe packing.

If you read my post earlier in the week about cracking the monochrome minimalist trend… all be it through the cheats method of using the medium of accessories, then you will probably have guessed that minimalist dressing is something I’m still working on. I’ve marvelled at mates who can turn up on hols having packed the simplest of black and white pieces for a whole two weeks away – it’s a genius travelista trick which I try to emulate each summer. Then, of course, the over packing demon rears its ugly head and my bag gets stashed full of summer brights and flimsy pieces which end up never seeing the light of a glorious Mediterranean day. So with my upcoming trip in mind, I’ve come up with a quick edit to get my head in the game, starting with some key pieces which are singing to me from the online stores.
