Bejeweled: London jewellery designers you need to know.

I thought I knew a thing or two about jewellery designers in London. Since moving back from New York I’ve spent the past few years rediscovering independent designers who’re set to be creating the heirlooms of tomorrow, but having taken a whirl through this beautifully designed and informative book Bejeweled London, by award-winning author Angela Gilltrap, I realise I’ve missed a few corkers!

A few of the designers in Angela’s edit have popped up on the blog before – think Alice Cicolini (above showing at London Fashion Week) and Tessa Metcalfe (who’s designs I’ve coveted at Wolf & Badger) But there are also new and exciting talents in this soon to be published gem which are worth a ponder.

What’s great about this book is that it not only gives us an understanding of the creative process behind some of London’s up and coming jewellery designers who are set to light up the accessory world, it also gives us an insight into how varied the career paths of these designers were to get them to this point. It’s inspirational stuff which makes me feel like I could actually down blogging tools and start something creative tomorrow!
