Karen Millen SS18 is right on trend.
Just before Christmas, I headed to the Karen Millen SS18 press preview to scope out what they had to offer for the new season. I’ve always had a bit of mixed vibe about this brand, having been to various showcases where their collections look amazing (see previous posts here and here), but then never being able to find all the gorgeous pieces I’ve spied once in my local store. This year I vowed to keep a keen eye out for key pieces and track their arrival online in order to snap up what I fancy. And I’m pleased to reports that with the SS18 presentation – there was plenty to take note of.
Loved this halter neck polka dot dress in the flesh – totally gorgeous!
First up if like me, you are on the annual look out for event dresses for the spring – Karen Millen SS18 had that sewn up. Think gorgeous lace, chiffon and polka dot dresses for all sorts of summer party shenanigans. Also, biker jackets in plenty of delicious summer brights were key – what with pastels and Crayola brights heading our way this summer I dare you not to fall for one of these cuties.
Next up in your SS18 closet you will need a check jacket. I popped up a post about my favourite one of the moment by Anine Bing here, but this Karen Millen cutie is also on my radar.
Another couple of trends to look out for are animal print, as well as top to toe taupes and nudes for the perfect neutral colour palette. Start with a classic trench then add on anything you fancy… as long as it’s a neutral and you will have the trend covered.
That’s not to say you can’t enjoy the brights which are headed our way. One of my favourite colours is yellow, so I’m happy to see that appearing on the spring/summer horizon in the not too distant.
As for accessories, anything goes. From bold brights to classic neutrals. Just be sure to think texture, pattern and the odd spot of floral embroidery, and you won’t go far wrong.
Karen Millen ss18… favourite picks.
Here are some of the pieces which have landed in store already and are definitely on my radar. Click the images to shop.
I’ve added this post to the fab Not Dressed as Lamb #SaturdayShareLinkup by Catherine Summers – you can find loads of other great reads in one spot – pop over for a read.
